What is a QR Code?
A QR Code is a two-dimensional bar code created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.

How do I read a QR Code?
If you have a smartphone, go to the app store and search for a QR code reader. You’ll find several free apps. We like the AT&T QR Code Reader. Run the app and then hold your phone’s camera over a code to read it. Most codes you’ll come across have a URL encoded, so chances are when you read the QR code it will take you to a web page. These codes link offline information to online content. A QR code can be printed on packaging, magazines, and promotional items to enable smartphone users to go directly to a web page without having to type in the web address. These little pictures truly are worth a thousand words!

How do I create a QR code?
There are several QR code generating sites out there. We like Delivr. www.Delivr.com generates QR codes quickly, and allows for immediate downloads of PNG and EPS files.

Google's New Talk GURU turns IM into a Search Tool

Always looking for new ways to deliver its search results, Google has rolled out a new app that combines instant messaging and search.

Launched today as the lastest experiment in the Google Labs playground, Google Talk Guru offers you a chat session through which you can ask certain questions and receive responses from an automated bot set up on the back end.

For now, the app can handle only certain types of questions from among a limited number of categories, such as weather, sports scores, math equations, definitions, and translations. But like other Google Labs apps, it's something to try out and could eventually develop into something bigger and better.

Helpful Time-Saver Meal

We are always looking for ways to help our clients save time and money. Today, I had 2 people tell me that they wish they had more time to have dinner with their family. One client even complained that they only had time to serve a can of ravioli. Between work and school, homework and sports, practice and music lessons... who has time for it all? My time saver secret is the crock pot... (aka slow-cooker, aka life-saver ;)

This is a simple ham recipe, (quick and easy) and provides a healthy alternative to frying. I usually set it up before I go to work and it's ready-to-eat when we get home.

Ham, Potato, Broccoli, and Carrots | Crockpot Recipe:
3 lbs of ham
6 small potatoes
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup broccoli
3 Carrots, chopped

Season the ham with salt and pepper and add to the crockpot. Add the small potatoes with the peels, broccoli, carrots, and 3/4 cup water into the crockpot and cook on low for 7-8 hours. Ready to serve.
