- Aim for six to eight main categories of information. More than this will overwhelm.
- Use the same navigation on every page.
- Create a clear hierarchy on each page so information is easy to find.
- Keep it simple. Too much flash animation or too many graphics can look bad and confuse your viewer.
- Use standard fonts so everyone sees what you think they are seeing.
- Make sure it's readable. For example, don't put blue text on a black background.
- Leave enough white space.
- Keep your pages short. Users do not want to scroll.
- Include the basics like phone numbers, address, directions, and email addresses.
- Take the time to test the site and be sure to incorporate changes that are suggested.
